Goldeneye in Jamaica : the mythical hotel where you can escape in love

It is impossible to discover Jamaica without going through Ian Fleming’s former home, an integral part of Jamaican culture.

After working for some time for Britain’s naval intelligence, Ian Fleming fell madly in love with Jamaica and decided to settle there. Facing the Caribbean Sea, in the middle of the tropical jungle, Ian Fleming wrote the volumes of the 007 saga in the 1950s.

Bought in 2010 by Chris Blackwell, the old residence became a hotel.

This small paradise now welcomes travellers in search of nature, where they can enjoy the tranquility of the lagoon and the wild beaches that surround the hotel.
It now has 49 villas, cottages and cabins, designed by the architect Ann Hodges and scattered in lush vegetation.

Guests can enjoy the Bizot Bar for breakfast facing the turquoise waves of the Caribbean Sea, the Bamboo bar for a jerk chicken on the go, the Shabeen for a fruit cocktail at sunset and the Gazebo for a romantic dinner.

They can also plan a sea trip, a snorkeling excursion or a relaxing massage at FieldSpa.

GoldenEye is a well hidden jewel on the east coast of the island, which you no longer want to leave.

Beach huts from $425.
