The company of the Airports of the French Riviera has launched a call for applications from companies specialized in the implementation of artificial intelligence. The system should make it possible to manage and optimise passenger flows in certain areas such as in front of check-in banks or at cross-border check-ins where queues can be long. The winning company will be required to provide a wait time measurement tool using « intelligent » 3D vision sensors to reduce these queues. The sensors will locate the size of the number of passengers (without identifying the persons), automatically track them, in order to determine their movements and waiting time in selected areas. An interface with the airport’s resource allocation software will reduce the always stressful waiting times for these passengers. The smooth flow of traffic inside the terminals is one of the airport company’s priorities, as illustrated at the beginning of the summer by the installation of facial control booths via passport at the entrance to the boarding area. A first for a provincial airport.
