The Elephant Mud Fun attraction at Bali Zoo will attract thousands of international tourists

Bali Zoo is proud to present the new intimate half-day package « Elephant Mud Fun » for fun in the mud with elephants that allows visitors to get dirty with the friendly Sumatran elephants while discovering their behaviour at the hand of our mahout.

Visitors will discover interesting information in the very place where it is common to see elephants swimming in mud in summer; indeed, their high body temperature generates a high dose of metabolic heat and as they do not have any sweat glands to lower their internal thermometers, they need the mud to stay cool.

Get down and dirty with the Sumatran Elephants at Bali Zoo

The adventure begins at 7am: visitors are picked up at their hotel and driven to Bali Zoo. Upon arrival in the Kampung Sumatra area, visitors will have a brief presentation of the program with free coffee or tea and snacks.

« The zoo’s English mahout will share information about elephants and offer visitors tropical fruits to feed the elephants. Visitors are accompanied by the mahout to the river to see the elephants at large and have the opportunity to interact closely and take pictures with them.

Three months after its launch, this adventure is attracting more and more tourists, especially Australians, who love this program because it is very educational, » said Lesmana Putra, general manager of the Bali Zoo.

Then it’s time for the elephants to take a bath with a generous mix of water, soil and pleasure. Cover yourself with mud alongside elephants who love to get dirty. Visitors can go down with the elephants to the nearby Wos River to swim with them. Once the elephants are clean, visitors will be able to take final photos with them before separating from their new friends. They can then shower and change for a relaxing lunch.

Visitors are invited to explore the rest of the zoo to admire the collection of more than 500 rare and exotic animals including rare and endangered species such as the Komodo Dragon, Sumatran Tiger and Orangutan. The Bali Zoo’s « Elephant Mud Fun » adventure is designed to discover the behaviour of these magnificent mammals and to live a unique experience and one of Bali’s most incredible outdoor adventures.
